Is Billiards considered a sport?

September 26, 2007 By: admin Category: Billiards 10 Comments →

avalon2900 asked:

I have heard in some aspects, Billiards is not considered a sport. In some other aspects how ever, Billiards is considered a sport not so much of the minimal physical requirements, but because of the mental concentration it takes to play. I never see any big stories or links about billiards mentioned on sports sites or anything like that. What is the deal?

NOEL P asked:

this is like the pool table but uses a chip and a round flat mother ball. They used to put a borax on the table to make it slipery so the chip will slide smoothly. Is there any instruction or a manufacturer to buy this kind of pool table.

Does a slate pool table wreck your floor? Can a pool table be too heavy?

September 20, 2007 By: admin Category: Billiards 3 Comments →

Lauren asked:

I want to buy a slate pool table for my house. I live in a townhouse and its two levels. I want to put it on the second level. i was talking to a friend and he said that a pool table will a) wreck the floor (its carpeted) and b) be too heavy for the floor. I’m wondering if anyone has bought a pool table for their house and if there is any truth to what my friend told me. Or if anyone has any advice on pooltables in houses.
